8 . Is there any difference between airplay censorship
and album censorship?
After listening to a lot of rap album. I found out that different from airplay, music in album seems to be no censored cause no "bleep"could be heared even the song is full of F words. I think if the music in ablum be censored too, it may have big impact on the whole recording industry cause no one will buy it .
But as I metioned before , if the whole was consider to be not appropriate for teenage to listen, "Parental Advisory " label will be put on.
By the way, I found out in China, If a some in album considered to be inappropeiate, they just cut the whole song off.
The biggest retailer in the U.S., and perhaps the world, Wal-mart, has had a policy of not stocking CDs that have what it considers to be objectionable content or parental advisory labels. It asks artists to "clean up" the content of their songs or album art work to meet their standards. Some artists, such as Green Day, object to this and consider it censorship, so they decided not to sell their music at Wal-mart. Wal-mart doesn't think this is censorship because consumers can purchase the uncensored versions of the music elsewhere, if they wish. But, since Wal-mart is so huge, if it refuses to sell their music, musicians can lose out on a lot of money. Do you think this is censorship? You can read about Green Day's opinion about this at http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/30869645/ns/today-entertainment/t/green-day-lashes-out-wal-mart-policy/#.T_5S_HDfdvM .
